ADRIAN SHABANI, PEConsulting Engineer

About Adrian

Practical engineering.
Direct communication.

I’m Adrian Shabani, PE, a mechanical engineer based in Charlotte, North Carolina, specializing in pipe stress analysis for industrial and power piping.

I bring more than 20 years of mechanical engineering experience, including work on greenfield chemical plants, plant expansions, high-temperature piping, and high-pressure offshore skid systems.

My experience includes CAESAR II and AutoPIPE piping analysis. My focus is on practical solutions for piping flexibility, equipment connection loads, expansion joints, and support arrangements—with clear documentation and direct communication throughout the assignment.

Selected experience

Representative assignments

These examples represent my engineering experience across consulting and employed roles. The temperature and pressure figures below refer to separate systems.

01 / CHEMICAL PLANT

Greenfield process piping

I served as lead pipe stress engineer for a greenfield chemical plant in Pasadena, Texas, covering hot-oil, steam, and process piping. The work included equipment nozzle-load evaluations, expansion-loop arrangements, and support coordination.

02 / PLANT EXPANSION

Jacketed piping & hot-oil service

I analyzed jacketed piping, process piping, and saturated steam systems for a chemical plant expansion in Mount Holly, North Carolina, addressing thermal expansion and support requirements.

03 / GENERATOR EXHAUST

High-temperature piping

I evaluated generator exhaust piping operating at approximately 1,000°F, including existing expansion bellows, revised supports, and an additional expansion joint within the piping system.

04 / OFFSHORE SKIDS

Remote analysis for a fabricator

I performed pipe stress analysis of offshore natural-gas skid piping with pressures up to approximately 6,700 psig. The assignment was completed remotely in coordination with the skid fabricator.

Working together

A clear scope.
A direct point of contact.

You work directly with me from the initial project discussion through analysis and delivery. Each assignment begins with a review of the available information, operating conditions, equipment requirements, and project objectives.

I agree the scope and deliverables with you at the outset, then document the analysis assumptions, findings, and recommendations for review and coordination.

I provide remote pipe stress consulting for clients across the United States, including engineering firms, skid builders, pipe fabricators, and equipment manufacturers. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, I also offer site visits by arrangement. Project scope is coordinated with applicable state licensure requirements.
